The Castle of Edinburgh at the back, the Princes Garden in front.

Soippa: Most of European have visited Edinburgh, but couple of tourist photos attached, just in case, more to come later on.

Moving to Scotland happened quite sudden, without a lot of planning, only thing for sure was to start studies at University. Jet-lack took energy for many days and we did not give the best change to fall in love at the first sight with old, historic city of Edinburgh. Suddenly the friendly customer service is gone at this side of world and so is fresh, non-polluted atmosphere, too. Everyone that we talked about Edinburgh beforehand gave such a positive statement, so maybe our hopes were too high, too.

No problem, let's take it easy and giving time, all we need is nice, safe place to stay after two weeks at too small B&B room and hearing about it's temperamental manager through doors. It wasn't easy to rent apartment, because so many students are looking for place at the same time and since we didn't have local bank accounts, it's even harder. We found, with help of real-estate agent, two bedroom flat near Harbor and sea ( and wind), and I'll need to spend more than one hour in busses daily.

Maybe it's too similar to Finland here, the faces of people I mean. And we see drunk people and many rough looking, maybe suffering social difficulties or drug problem. There are more homeless for sure. I'm happy that it's multicultural big city, anyway.

The red tape was old fashion and full of technical problems at the University, but the school I'm studying in, and specially international fellow students, are interesting and nice. Yes, they are little bit younger, but have professional experience. It's school of short films, as teachers say. Everyone does at least 2 short films, write 3 more and participate 4 more short films in the following three months before Christmas.

I hope we have time to travel country side over weekends, because there it is, the most interesting part of Scotland, I think. We must be in the centre of world now, since the Pope is coming to visit us so soon! Local evangelist church made statement for pope with painting at main street:
